Tasks
Shared to-do lists inside groups, spaces, events and clubs

Tasks

A shared to-do list for a group. Break a project into steps, see who is doing what, and tick things off as they are finished.

What Tasks is

Tasks lives inside a Group, Space, Event, Job or Club. It is not a personal planner and it is not a site-wide tool. Each place keeps its own set of task lists, and each list holds the tasks for one part of the work.

A task has a title and a description. It can also have a due date, people assigned to it, attachments, and comments.

Where to find it

  1. Log in and open the Group, Space, Event, Job or Club.
  2. Choose Tasks from its menu.
  3. You will see the task lists and a calendar based on due dates.

Tasks does not appear on organisation pages or personal profiles. If an organisation wants to run projects with Tasks, the simplest way is to create a Group for each project.

What you can do

  • Browse and read. Open any task to see its description, who it is assigned to, and its comments.
  • Comment. Add comments to a task, unless comments have been switched off for it.
  • Add lists and tasks. The New TaskList and New Task buttons appear for group admins.
  • Complete and re-open. A task can be marked complete and re-opened later by the group's admins, the author, or anyone assigned to it.
  • Filter. Show all tasks, only completed ones, or only the ones still to do.

Notifications

  • When a task is assigned to you, you are notified on the site, by email and by push notification.
  • You are also notified when a task you are assigned to is completed, re-opened or expires.
  • Nobody is notified when a task is edited or deleted.
